Several years ago, after a decade of operating a tour agency in Nepal, I ventured to the United States of America, where I managed a travel agency. Whilst in the US, I was fortunate enough to meet with major tour operators and was made aware of the facts that were paramount in a potential visitor’s mind while making plans to make a trip to Nepal.

With this perennial revelation as well as the lessons learnt while dealing with the numerous visitors that I managed to send to Nepal, I now think I know how to best represent a potential visitor’s concerns even while in the planning stages. Concerns such as guarantees, insurance, evacuation, security, etc. that are relevant in relations to the trip that tour operators in Nepal are not quite aware of as yet.

After a three-year stint in the US, I returned to Nepal and once again took over the management of my company. Two years later, I am pleased to state that these lessons have been well learnt and I have now been able to train the manpower and infrastructure necessary to complement the already highly service-oriented employees that we retain. Our inbound tour branch is now under the trademark of “Himalayan Odyssey” and we are marketing the first ever fully dedicated CD-ROM presentation on Nepal. 

To gain your confidence, we have also applied for and received membership within the highly respected “American Society of Travel Agents” as well as the "United States Tour Operator Association".
